Five and a half years after the world was shut down for a novel virus, some people are still feeling the effects of the initial illness. Dubbed “long covid,” a collection of symptoms linger well after the initial illness occurred.
What Is Long Covid?
Known formally as post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC), here’s what it is:
Long COVID is defined as a chronic condition that occurs after SARS-CoV-2 infection and is present for at least 3 months. Long COVID includes a wide range of symptoms or conditions that may improve, worsen, or be ongoing.
Long covid can linger for months or even years, and in some cases, it becomes a chronic condition that can be severe enough to cause disability.
Symptoms include the following from the CDC:
General symptoms
- Tiredness or fatigue that interferes with daily life
- Symptoms that get worse after physical or mental effort
- Fever
Respiratory and heart symptoms
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Coughing
- Chest pain
- Fast-beating or pounding heart (also known as heart palpitations)
Neurological symptoms
- Difficulty thinking or concentrating (sometimes referred to as “brain fog”)
- Headaches
- Sleep problems
- Dizziness when you stand up (lightheadedness)
- Pins-and-needles feelings
- Change in smell or taste
- Depression or anxiety
Digestive Symptoms
- Diarrhea
- Stomach pain
- Constipation
Other symptoms
- Joint or muscle pain
- Rash
- Changes in menstrual cycles
It can turn into a serious chronic illness, according to the Open Medicine Foundation:
Numerous studies have revealed a significant overlap in symptoms reported by patients with Long COVID and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS).
An NIH-funded study found that new cases of ME/CFS were 15 times higher than pre-pandemic levels. According to the results, 4.5% post-COVID-19 participants met ME/CFS diagnostic criteria, compared to 0.6% participants that had not been infected by SARS-CoV-2 virus.
These findings provide additional evidence that infections, including those caused by SARS-CoV-2, can lead to ME/CFS.
Long covid causes a serious decline in the quality of life of people who suffer from it.
What Causes Long Covid?
A study by the University of Kansas determined that the illness was caused by spike proteins that remained in the body.
The study looked at 116 COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized at the University of Kansas and analyzed the viral RNA and Spike protein in these patients. Most of the follow-ups occurred between 8 and 12 weeks, however, some went as far as 24 weeks or more. The team found that measuring viral RNA and Spike Proteins was helpful in understanding Long Haul Covid. In fact, the degree of the Spike protein was most closely connected with three variables: blood d-dimer level, length of hospital stay, and intensity of hospitalized symptoms.
Dr. Peter McCullough has suggested that individuals who have been vaccinated may be more susceptible to long COVID.
It is likely that immunization worsens post-COVID symptoms despite producing antibodies against the Spike protein because COVID-19 mRNA vaccinations add additional genetic code and Spike protein to the body.
The CDC disagrees with this conclusion, and in fact, believes that the opposite is true.
Research shows COVID-19 vaccination is the best available tool to prevent Long COVID, including in children.
I encourage you to do your own research on this divisive subject.
Long Covid Treatments
Treatment options can be limited and there is not one set treatment by the medical community. The Cleveland Clinic offers these options:
- Medication. Providers can treat certain symptoms and conditions, like cough, headaches, anxiety and depression with medication. If they can find an underlying cause for long COVID (like blood clots), they might be able to treat the cause with medications.
- Stellate ganglion block or olfactory retraining. Providers can use these treatments to try to bring back your sense of smell and taste. A stellate ganglion block numbs certain nerves in your neck that can affect your sense of smell. Olfactory retraining uses common smells to help your brain remember what things should smell like.
- Physical therapy. Physical therapy incorporates exercise, massage and other treatments that can help you with pain or movement issues.
- Pulmonary rehabilitation. Pulmonary rehabilitation is a special kind of exercise and education program that can help you breathe better and learn how to manage breathing issues at home.
- Counseling. Counseling gives you someone to talk to who can help you manage the psychological effects of severe or long-term illness.
The Wellness Company has another protocol. They have a product called Ultimate Spike Detox, which is stronger than their previous Spike Support product. If you find that you need something stronger, this could be the answer for you. It’s an extra strength formula designed to use the McCullough Base Spike Detoxification Protocol, which was published in several major medical journals.
It contains natural ingredients and is classified as a dietary supplement.
If you’ve been suffering from the effects of covid long after the initial illness is gone, I encourage you to give the Ultimate Spike Detox a try. It attacks the root problem – spike proteins – instead of merely treating the symptoms.
What About You?
I know that some folks say “covid doesn’t exist” and “it’s just the flu” but I had an extremely severe case of it back when I was living in Mexico. Luckily, I didn’t suffer long-term side effects, but I personally know several people who have.
Have you had covid? Was it mild or severe? Do you have any of the symptoms of long covid? Have you seen a doctor for it?
Please share your experience in the comments section.

Hi Daisy
Long covid?? Only if you caught covid and didn’t get the vaccine. If you got the vaccine, then you have ‘long vaccine’. After all, if long covid is due to spike proteins running around in your body, what do you have after you receive a shot of spike proteins, and mRNA that turns cells in your body into a spike protein generator??
As for me, early on I started taking ivermectin prophylactically (sourced in India, since it was not available in USA), never got a vaccine, and never caught covid.
Hi RayK,
Questions such as you raise would never have occurred to the CDC or other agencies within the U. S. Public Health Service, which has long acted as a promoter of pharmaceuticals, even to the extent of investing in Moderna. There seem to be signs of slowly ridding that agency of its “safe and effective” vaccine dogma, such as the appointment of people to the Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices (which is within the CDC) who would base their recommendations on actual evidence. But I would still take most statements from the USPHS with a grain of salt.
Agree
As bad as our .gov is, I had some faith in our medical establishment (including my personal health provider) and the military. Covid response, and the Brandon Admin, disabused me of all of that.
I’m 76 y.o. and will not live long enough to put any trust in anything coming out of .gov in any form, from any source, without outside and totally disconnected verification. As much as I believe that my ARNP has my best interests at heart, she accepts and follows .gov sources that I don’t trust, so with her, it’s ‘trust but verify’.
Grain of salt?? Not even a 50lb salt block!
RayK wrote, “Grain of salt?? Not even a 50lb salt block!”
I stand corrected!
Exactly what I read too. The doctors are trying to make people feel better that they got the vaccine and it is not a side effect otherwise people will not get more.
I got covid before we knew what it was, then again about a 14 months later, just after returning to in person work. The first time it was a terrible cold, caught from a colleague who insisted on coming to work while hacking her lungs out. The second time from the atmosphere. The second time I was super sick, back ache, headache, then terrible abdominal symptoms. I did NOT vaccinate, because anything that the wacko media and lefty government want you to do THAT BADLY just can’t be in your best interest, especially when there were not long term studies. I did finally give in and get the monoclonal antibodies, which helped. I never did get bad respiratory issues, but then I keep mucinex on hand for keeping the lungs clear, and I also take Plaquenil daily for RA. (I only take half the recommended dose of that because it can make you go blind after many years)
I didn’t lose my sense of smell until more than 6 months AFTER the second covid. About May of 2022 I lost a lot of scent sensitivity. Garlic now smells like sewage. Makes it difficult to cook or eat out, I sometimes just take a bite of something and it is so revolting that I have to spit it out. I have heard that chewing nicotine gum for about 3 days in a row can bring back the sense of smell, but I haven’t had the courage, as nicotine is highly addictive.
I still suffer with exhaustion after vigerous activity, but that is also due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. So, I just pace myself, do what I can, and try again another day…
According to Dr Bryan Ardis nicotine itself is actually not addictive. In the case of cigarettes the addictiveness is a result of what the manufacturers add to make them addictive.
Thanks for posting this, Daisy. I have long covid, since I caught razor throat covid from my the little jabbed always sick sheeple co workers at my previous job in July of this year. I had to take fmla , unpaid for 2 months, because it turned into not only pneumonia but some type of superbug that we kept recycling to each other .
So the doctor at ER did swabs up my nose and it came back negative BUT with the blood work he ordered as well as chest x rays he said it showed covid in my system, said that it had turned into pneumonia and that I needed to stop the antibiotics and steroids the previous doctor prescribed me. He did give me scrip for budesonide for our families nebulizer, said that we were recycling this covid that had turned into a superbug that had turned antibiotic resistant and that i needed to follow up with a pulmonary doctor. Needless to say, I did not have health insurance and ordered the Spike Protein Detox from Wellness company, as well as went to Dr Stella Immanuel in Houston who gave me the 2 ” banned drugs” we cannot name due to algorithms, which had to be shipped from Vegas because no pharmacy here in Texas will fill. She also gave me her covilyte detox combo which consists of supplements, electrolyte powder and 4 day detox juice.
This stuff works. I had to pay out of pocket but I will say that it was well worth the money that I paid because most doctors nowadays are Covidians, and bow to NWO globalist elites.
I would say to anyone experiencing these symptoms to please go to Wellness company and/or DrStellaMD.com, as this stuff is debilitating and only gets worse if not treated. Also, if you did get jabbed , knowingly or not (hospital I went to back in 2020 for food poisoning possibly gave me jab without permission and without my knowledge) , that Wellness Company Spike Protein Detox works.
I am still bitter about this whole covid scamdemic, BUT I cannot live in fear or anger because that’s affecting my health as well, so I am in counseling for this, and I am glad Daisy brought that up as well in this post. Whatever is in this biochemical weapon also messes with people’s brains and causes extreme mood changes, at least in me it did, and I already had anger issues LOL Thanks for letting me share on this platform, because no one believes me except my priest and fellow church member, the doctors at wellness company and dr Stella. Even my therapist is kinda iffy about this all but is helping me with CBT therapy. God bless and protect us all.
I had a severe case of COVID in November 2021. I had a fever that lasted 8 days and was so fatigued I could barely get out of bed. I got some Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine from Mexico to aid recovery. Never got the experimental jab. About 5 months after recovering, I developed Parosmia (distorted sense of smell) and Dysgeusia (distorted sense of taste). Nearly everything smelled weird and tasted rancid. This lasted hard for about 6 months and I lost quite a bit of weight during that time, but some smells and tastes have eventually come back. Some random things like cola or cucumbers still taste awful. Over time, I also developed that “brain fog”. I’m a 54 year old software engineer and struggle daily to concentrate, comprehend and focus, when before I was on top of my game. I used to be a walking music and movie database, but now I struggle to even remember the names of my favorite actors or performers. I can be mid sentence and just lose my words. I have also developed gastrointestinal issues, joint pain and major fatigue no matter how much sleep I get. These symptoms have all been life changing and continue to worsen as time goes on. My doctors don’t seem to be of any help. In fact, they deny long-COVID is the issue and all they offer are bandaid fixes for each symptom, which doesn’t really help. I have tried numerous supplements (multivitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D3, ginkgo biloba, beet root, quercetin) and those didn’t help. They actually seemed to bog me down more. As a result, I am also struggling with depression as I feel like my long term health and even career are in jeopardy. I have been considering this Ultimate Spike Detox and maybe it’s time to try it. I’ve tried everything else.
Daisy, I posted a somewhat lengthy comment on here did I offend? It hasn’t been showing.
I am SO glad you said something. I wondered why there were so few comments on this article and I found yours and another in spam! Is my spam filter being political? Anyway, both are approved now.
The same thing happened to me. I posted an informative comment and haven’t seen it here yet.
I’m very sorry but I was not able to find your comment. My spam folder empties every couple of days and I can’t get that stuff back. Is it possible that is what happened when you checked back?
I don’t know. It’s just disappointing as I included some important info on studies and remedies that could help people and I didn’t keep a copy of it. It was one of those moments when I was in the writing zone and had a flow of info and good recall, but now can’t remember all that was included. One thing that was is that it’s been shown that venoms were/are in the so-called virus as well as the injections, plus self-assembling nanotech. Dr. Bryan Ardis’ book on getting beyond the C-19 lies (paraphrase of actual title) cites the studies and offers remedies that work. He also has free patient resources on his website (TheDrArdisShow.com), including downloadable PDFs and corresponding videos on his Rumble channel of the same name. He invited three other doctors to join him to establish Healing For the AGES (HealingForTheAGES.com) and some of them worked together with him to develop products that neutralize the venoms and other bioweapon constituents in both the virus and the injections. Also, Dr Ana Mihalcea who has a Rumble channel called Humanity United as well as a substack has studied what’s in the blood of jabbed and unjabbed people and it’s astonishing what she has documents under dark field microspocy. She has also established protocols that reverse the effects and clean the blood. Plus, there is a nano spray product at IWantMyHealthBack.com that is pretty amazing based on the testimonials for all kinds of health issues and wellness in general. One of their customers did his own self-paid research and testing. When he was using their product, his blood cleared of all the bioweapon constituents and when he stopped using it for a month to see what would happen, and he was exposed again his blood showed it, but when he used the product, it eliminated it again. There is a PDF of his study and testimonial. All of these are worth looking into to my thinking. Sorry, but that’s all of the info I can remember at this point. I hope it benefits someone who has posted here or reads this later.
I’m so sorry!
Covid reactivated Epstein Barr for me which is implicated in ME/CFS as well. While both times I have had Covid (known) it has been fairly mild the reactivation of EBV and CMV has caused many of the symptoms you list.
Sure did me too! Been battling it (EBV-mono) ever since. I have started going to The Wellness Way here in my state. I think they’re a franchise but they do protocols that I’ve seen on the many docuseries I watch with the top specialists around he world.
Worth checking out if they have clinics near you. It’s all out of pocket but ‘good’ medical advice seems to be now.
where is Jennifo’s lengthy comment from the SPAM filter? i can relate
HBOT is the most helpful with long C …. Many get return of taste and smell in one visit . See FLCCC.net
