That all depends on what form the SHTF takes: If the US government continues to provoke a nuclear war with Russia, (over Syria or the Ukraine)- then I will not survive that-and none of YOU will, either!
yes you can survive a nuclear war but you may wish you had not. Look at japan. the country is still there and they live in those contaminated cities. I have several barrels of rain water but the closes source is about 5 miles, a large river and ocean.
