The word “city” has taken on new meaning for us.

Today there were errands I simply could not put off anymore, so we had to go to the “city”.  Considering we hailed from a city in an area boasting a population of over 2 million residents, we were pretty urban before we moved here.

Our “city” has just over 14,000 people. 🙂

We’ve been here in the hinterboonies for a month now, so going there was really a treat.  You know you live somewhere remote when you get excited to go to Wal-mart and Bulk Barn once a month! Because of the length of the trip, this will only be an occasional kind of thing.  We did some shopping for supplies, found an inexpensive place to replenish our filtered water supply and enjoyed lunch out. We’re going to keep a “city list” of items we need to pick up the next time we go in.

The biggest treat was the  hour and 10 minute drive  – here’s the view just as we left our home.
Sometimes it really is about the journey and not the destination!
