Ps. Just read an interesting paper on the average longevity of the eleven of twenty-four Empires of the past three thousand years. Basically, an empire lasts ten generations or two-hundred and fifty years following certain stages of the populace’s behavior. It’s twenty-six pages and available as a free downloadable pdf.
The article gives a framework to hang separate events together.

Daisy Luther and Selco have brought tremendous value in publishing this work. “The Dark Secrets of SHTF Survival” delivers exactly that! For those of us blessed to have lived in stable society, but wish to be prepared for any contingencies, Selco has explained the realities of day to day life in a world without rule of law. Little things that are contrary to many popular beliefs offer nuances that have profound effects. One of many examples would be if someone tried to bribe a person of power with a gold coin, the “man with the gun” would likely wonder how many more you may have and take whatever is on your person. However should you take the ring off your finger and offer it as a gold bribe, the likelihood of you having any more is far diminished and they are less likely to “shake you down,” but instead let you pass. Better to have 5 rings in your pockets than even a single gold coin.
While there are some clear editing issues, Selco speaks in his own words which delivers powerful first person value. A few typos do arise, but an easy read which will surely inspire you to think in new ways with far deeper dimensions. 10 Stars for content, 4 stars for editing. A Must have for anyone serious about knowing what “could happen” and how to respond.
Yes! Glad to see we finally have a book instead of the occasional interview. So sick of all the guys on You Tube who think they know everything and never saw any SHTF at all.

I was a NATO peace keeper in Gradačac Bosnia in ’95-’96, so it was close to same place / same time as this author. It was bad, worse than my tour in Iraq (for me at least). We didn’t get shot at too much like Iraq, but it was tragic what they were doing to each other around us. People get desperate real fast with no food and neighbors turn on each other. I have read every article I could find from Selco on line and he gives a blunt perspective of what to expect when a normal middle class society collapses. Forget the You Tube shopping mall Ninjas and Yeager wannabes, listen to this guy and add to your knowledge base. Yes, his English isn’t perfect, but neither is my Croat or German, or my Spanish for that matter, so ignore the overly critical reviews correcting grammar etc. People laugh at me when I speak Spanish, but you get the point.

Anyone who is serious about modern survival should read it. It won’t appeal to the “Overt” shiney kit obsessed prepper as there’s very little on kit! .
But there again the serious level headed prepper knows that knowage, skills luck and the ability to improvise and adapt will make the difference between life and death, this book is for you.
